wiring of altenator and ignition switch help
okay l am rewiring my 67 galaxie with a hotrod wire harness l have finally
gotten power to ignition and engine. but l have a major power draw on
battery. took altenator in it is good must be wiring problems. this is
what l have done. 2 red wires- one to positive on solenoid with fusible
link, one to red terminal on altenator both run back to fuse box. purple
to little starter post on top of solenoid. and pink to coil positive. now
on my altenator l have 5 posts , 1 has red on bottom...bat. power ( right ) 1 has black..ground..( right ) and l have no idea what the other three are. Do l need a cable directly from altenator to solenoid? l tried and l got no power to altenator at all...so l dont know if l did anything wrong. Now at my ignition circuit l have 4 prongs and a long screw coming out. l dont know if l have this wired correct at all. on the 3 prongs l have the purple wire( start ) connected to the top, the very bottom l have both red ( power ) wires together on 1 prong and the other l have the pink (ignition ) wire, on the outter prong l have the 2 accessory wires on 1 prong..Nothing is on the long screw correct? or no? my problem is l have a very major power draw somewhere my car will start if l jump it but as soon as l remove the jump cables it drops so fast that the car just stops.. l know l have the wiring wrong l just dont know from where.
